The days of Yogi Bear hunting down a pic-o-nic basket are long gone. In this day and age, you need to keep your food locked up tight before a bear or smaller critter gets to it first! Not just to keep your belly full, but for an animal’s safety as well.

The closest brewery to the hikes along the Mountain Loop Highway is Lake Stevens Brewing Company. Don’t let the small size of the building fool you–there is tasty beer to be had inside!
Lime Kiln Trail

Rainy days are frequent here, so its always good to have a good riverside or waterfall hike prepared for offering a bit of tree cover and protection from the elements. Located in Granite Falls is Lime Kiln trail, a relatively flat trail rich in history that is great year-round for hiking.

Last weekend was the gorgeous spring day that tricks you into believing summer is around the corner. I see many trails were abuzz with hikers. I decided to stick close to home and explore a beautiful lakeside park in Seattle–Seward Park.
